The always wonderful comic news column, The Beat, has posted excellent interviews with Alan Moore, author of Watchmen, From Hell, V For Vendetta, and a host of other comic masterworks.

These interviews should explain why I don't want to see V For Vendetta. I do it mainly out of respect for an author who I greatly admire. Please note, the author has not called for a boycott and would probably think my reasons for not seeing the movie are misguided.
From all the reviews I've read, this is a good movie and the truest adaptation of an Alan Moore work so far, so please enjoy if that be your pleasure. If the producers have captured even an iota of what makes this work so genius, (and judging from the reviews, they did capture at least that iota), the movie should be very good and thought-provoking, indeed.

P.S.- If you have not read the story, do not read Moore's last answer in the second part of the interview, as it contains some mild spoilers.

Im sorry we went. Well not really, but Lisa did want to see it. And I didn't read the interviews until I had watched it. Im going to read the comic, so I know whats different. Those damn rich trixy bastards....
