Dear Justin.
Your mum Susan told me you will be in Hamburg and need information. I just called my brother who is living there and asked, what you should see. He gave me some suggestions. Than I was looking for a Internet page about the town an found this:

The FODOR'S choice is the same my brother said. (Alster, Speicherstadt, Freihafen, Rathaus and Reeperbahn) So you should read it and decide, what you are interested in.
When will you and your in-law-family be there? I'll be there next week on Tuesday and Wednesday. So I think too early to meet you...?

The train from London Liverpool Street Station to Harwich is practically the same price as one way. I had made a calculation of travel in London being about $100 per person. It will probably be more like $70. Here is the breakdown:
We will need to each buy:
Train to port and back: 15.60GBP or so, approx. $31.13
One day London Tube pass with zones 1-6 for Saturday: 6.70GBP, approx. $13.40
Two One day off peak London tube pass zones 1-2: 5.10GBP each, approx. $10.20 (x2 =20.40)
So that is about $65 and I figure some extra should be considered for possible taxi from train to hotel and transportation from hotel to London Liverpool street station. I said two off peak tickets for Sept. 23 and Oct 8th because apparently off peak means not the butt crack of the morning. If you travel anytime after 9:30 AM its considered off peak.
Note: One day travel cards are good until 4:30AM the next day. So if we party we can make it back on the same ticket. :)
