Theory of Inconsequential Acts

Karma: in Indian philosophy, the influence of an individual's past actions on his future lives, or reincarnations. The doctrine of karma reflects
the Hindu conviction that this life is but one in a chain of lives (samsara) and that it is determined by man's actions in a previous life. This is accepted as a law of nature, not open to further discussion.

Well, being that I'm not Hindu and that I do not fear continuous rebirth (I actually relish the idea),I am going to discuss Karma or my version of it (The Theory of Inconsequential Acts).
If you remove all of the religious mumbo jumbo...I think that the Hindu's had a point...

In the world of science, Isaac Newton's 3d law of motion states that :

For every action (force) there is an equal and opposite reaction (force).

I believe this holds true in the non-physical world as well...every action one takes has repercussions that can resonate throughout one's lifetime. Now each, action no matter how inconsequential it might seem at the time will still have an effect. Of course the size of the act , will determine how soon the repercussions will be known, and the extent of those repercussions.

A few examples.

1. You missed a family gathering where an important CEO, was going to like you, and offer you a high paying job.
2. You were 15 minutes late to the bus stop, and you missed the opportunity of meeting the person of your dreams.
3. You crossed the street at a different intersection, because you thought you might save time, and you were hit by a car.

The key is that with every keystroke, and with every step you take will effect your life one way or another, and the only way to prevent this from occurring by entering a self-induced coma-like state where you will not exert any "force" upon the world...but even then by not acting upon the world...you are changing your destiny by losing opportunities, and not living to your full potential. The bottom line is that you are screwed...you cannot escape Karma, Hindus, or Taxes, but on the bright side it is good to know that with every second you have the ability to change your destiny...
